A loaded question I see. Luther defined it as imputed righteousness received by Christ though the cross, which makes us right or 'justified' before God. Of course what we need to explore is if Augustine/Anselm/Luther/Calvin/modern evangelicals get Paul's teachings of justification in Romans right or not!? Padawan Niece, this one's for you as well.
